1,421 Students from Aakash Institute qualify for Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad (PRMO) Exam
New Delhi: In a path-breaking result, 1,421 students from Aakash Institute, the national leader in test preparatory services, have qualified the prestigious Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad Programme (PRMO). Resulting in a whopping 77% rise from 2018 when 800 students had been selected, registering one of the highest growths in the test preparation sector in the country for PRMO.
As a matter of pride, the number of selections from Aakash Institute for PRMO have been steadily rising for the past few years. 2018’s 800 selections were a 100% rise from 2017 when 400 students had been selected for the Olympiad, a testimony of the innovative teaching methodology, curriculum and faculty at Aakash Institute. The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India, which leads to participation of Indian students in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.
PRMO is the Stage 1 of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). It is a 3-hour examination with 30 questions held in different centres across India. Basis the performance of students in the PRMO, qualified students from Class 8th- 12th then move on to the next stage which is the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO).
