Over 200 International and 170 National School students compete during “6th Amity International Olympiad”
New Delhi: Over 200 International School Students from 8 countries along with 170 Indian School students came together to participate in “6th Amity International Olympiad for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology” organized by Amity Institute of Competitive Examination (AICE) and Amity Centre for Science Olympiads (ACSO) at Amity Campus, Sector- 125, Noida.
Mrs. Jaishree Chauhan- Amity Group and Dr. Gurinder Singh- Amity Group Vice Chancellor declared the Olympiad open.
Welcoming the august gathering, Ms. Meenakshi Rawal-Director, Amity Institute of Competitive Examination (AICE) presented a brief summary of the International Olympiad and shared that Olympiad has witnessed humungous participation of over 200 International students from countries such as Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Romania, Moldova and Nepal along with 170 Indian students from schools located across Delhi/NCR including DPS Noida, Kendariya Vidyala Noida, DPS Vasant Kunj and Amity International Schools . She called upon students to try and attempt all the questions rather than leaving the sheet blank since the understanding of concepts will also fetch them marks. She wished them luck during the Olympiad and motivated them to give their best
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Gurinder Singh- Amity Group Vice Chancellor gave a brief presentation on Amity Group of Educational Institutions. Encouraging the students, he advised them to never give up in their lives since the journey of excellence is full of hardships and only the ones with determination and grit are able to make it to the top. He called upon students to keep on meeting and interacting with learned people and never cease to explore new things. Dr. Singh outlined various International programmes run by Amity including Internship Abroad Programme, India Immersion Programme and others
Ms. Aliyeva Nazrin- one of the participant in Biology Olmpiad from Class X , Zarifa Aliyeva High School, Baku, Azerbaijan, while expressing her views, stated that her participation in Olympiad will enrich her knowledge and apprise her with International teaching methodology. She stated that Olympiad overall will be joyful experience, which will also help her in making new friends from different countries.
Another participant of Chemistry Olympiad, Mashrul Harve from Class IX International Turkish Hope School, Bangladesh expressed his eagerness to gain global exposure from Olympiad, which will help him in becoming globally employable Automobile Engineer in future. He thanked Amity for giving him an opportunity to interact with so many International students and subject experts under one roof.
Students from all the countries beautifully introduced themselves with their Country flags along with their teacher coordinators and observers.
Amity International Olympiad is conducted with the mission to foster stronger relationships amongst participating Nations and to promote exchange of scientific skills and knowledge amongst the youth and creative minds across the world. It brings together students with love for Science & Mathematics and ignites scientific temperament among them. Participation in this internationally recognized and highest level of examination is considered a great achievement in itself.
During the International Olympiad, students will be trained under the able guidance and leadership of renowned faculty members and subject experts. During the first day, the students will take “Theory Exam” of respective Olympiads, followed by “Experiments” on second day. The third day will witness “Arbitration” between the team leaders and examination committee experts and Results will be declared subsequently during the Award Ceremony.
