Eligibility
Eligibility for PhD except in Home Science:
Master’s degree in the respective discipline / related discipline from the faculty concerned of KAU or a recognized equivalent qualification with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0 for general category and 6.5/10.0 for SC/ST
A basic degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Agricultural Engineering/Forestry is essential for all courses except for Home Science and Rural Marketing Management
Eligibility for Home Science
Minimum eligibility for admission to PhD in Home Science shall be M.Sc. in Home Science with specialization in Food Science and Nutrition/M.Sc. in Food Science and Nutrition recognized by KAU with an OGPA of 7.0/10.0 for General Category and 6.5/10.0 for SC/ST or 50% marks for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST under traditional system
M.Sc. Program
Agriculture: Master’s Degree programmes leading to M.Sc.(Ag.), M.Sc.(Horticulture) and M.Sc. Home Science (Food Science & Nutrition) are offered as detailed in Annexure
Eligibility for Agriculture/Horticulture
Bachelor’s degree in the respective subject / equivalent degree recognised by KAU. For graduates of KAU, under UG regulations 2007, the minimum OGPA is 6.0/10 for general category and 5.5/10 for SC/ST category
For graduates of KAU under UG regulations up to 2006, the minimum OGPA is 7.3/10 for general category and 7.0/10 for SC/ST. B.Sc. (Ag.) and B.Sc. (Hort.) will be treated as equal for admission purposes
Three year B.Sc. (Ag.) students of other Agricultural Universities and Traditional Universities are not eligible for admission. Eligibility for admission to M.Sc. (Agricultural Economics) is restricted to basic degree holders in Agriculture
Eligibility for Home Science
Any degree of the Kerala Agricultural University except that in Co-operation, Banking and Management and Agricultural Engineering
For graduates of KAU, under UG regulations 2007, the minimum OGPA is 6.0/10 for general category and 5.5/10 for SC/ST category or 2.25/4.00 or an aggregate of 50% marks in traditional system for general category and 2.0/4.0 or a pass in qualifying exam of traditional system for SC/ST category
Those who possess a basic degree in Home Science/Family and Community Science or equivalent with a minimum of 50.00% marks are also eligible
Co-operation & Banking
Master’s degree programme leading to M.Sc. (C & B) is offered at the college of cooperation, banking & Mgmt in disciplines as detailed in Annexure
Any degree of the Kerala Agricultural University or an equivalent degree recognized by KAU; for graduates of KAU, under UG regulations 2007, the minimum OGPA is 6.0/10 for general category and 5.5/10 for SC/ST category
Forestry
Master’s degree programme leading to M.Sc. (Forestry) degree is offered at the College of Forestry, Vellanikkara in five disciplines as detailed in Annexure
A basic degree in Forestry/ Agriculture/ Horticulture/ B.V.Sc. &A.H (for wildlife science only) or equivalent degree recognized by KAU; for graduates of KAU, under UG regulations 2007, the minimum OGPA is 6.0/10 for general category and 5.5/10 for SC/ST category
For graduates of KAU under UG regulations up to 2006, the minimum OGPA is 7.3/10 for general category and 7.0/10 for SC/ST
Degree holders with Higher Grade Certificate from Ranger’s College or with Diploma in Forestry from State Forest College/ Indian Forest College, Dehra Dun are also eligible
Faculty of Agricultural Engg & Technology:
M. Tech. Program
Master’s Degree Program leading to M.Tech (Ag Eng) degree are offered at KCAET, Tavanur in three disciplines as detailed in Annexure
Graduation in Agricultural Engg or an equivalent degree recognized by KAU with an OGPA of 6.0/10 for general category and 5.5/10 for SC/ST category for graduates of KAU, under UG regulations 2007
Reservation of Seats
Reservation of seats and admission for sponsored candidates – 25% of the seats shall be reserved for the eligible candidates sponsored by the ICAR based on All India Entrance Exam to be conducted by them
At the time of admission, the candidate should remit the fee for application form and registration and submit the filled in application to the University
Candidates sponsored by the Govt. of Kerala are admitted over and above the intake capacity subject to availability of faculty and facilities
Application Procedure
Application Forms and Prospectus are available in www.admissions.kau.in and the candidates should register in the website, submit the online application, take a print out of the application and forward the same with all the copies of documents mentioned in the prospectus to the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, KAU P.O, Vellanikkara, Thrissur-680656 before the last date prescribed

Application Fee
PG – General Candidates Rs.1000/- & SC/ST Candidates of Kerala – Rs.500/-
PhD – General Candidates Rs.1500/- & SC/ST Candidates of Kerala – Rs.750/-
Mode of Payment
The Pay-in-Slip generated in the online application form can be used for remitting the application fee at any branch of State Bank of India to the Savings Bank Account No.: 57006546701 of the Comptroller, Kerala Agricultural University maintained at State Bank of India, KAU Campus Branch, Vellanikkara and the original counter foil of the remittance slip should be attached along with hard copy of the application submitted through online
The Application Fee can also be remitted by way of Demand Draft in favour of the Comptroller, Kerala Agricultural University payable at State Bank of India, KAU Campus Branch, Vellanikkara
