Chandigarh: With every sunrise were redefine challenge for scripting an unending excellence & on the ladder of time, we sparred into Annual Sixth Convocation, Chitkara University, Punjab. The grandeur set-up of the venue displayed a majestic and ceremonial aura of the event symbolically indicating the strides Chitkara University is making towards excellence in Education. It was, indeed, an unforgettable ambience immersed into the confluence of experienced intelligentsia bestowing the impeccable and dynamic Chitkarians with 500 degrees in the field of Engineering, Management, Architecture, Pharmacy, Computer Applications and Education - a culmination of their well carved out careers. The Sixth Convocation commenced with Academic procession walking into the festooned Open Air Theatre, to the tunes played by the Army Band, adding to the grandeur of the ceremony. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest of the day, His Excellency, Sh. Shivraj V. Patil, Governor, Punjab, Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigah who lighted the ceremonial lamp along with Prof. Bharat. K Bhargava, Perdue University, US, Dr. Ashok Chikara, Chancellor, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Wg. Cdr RS Gill, Vice President, Dr. Archana Mantri, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. SC Sharma, Registrar, Chitkara University, followed by an invocation vandana to Goddess Saraswati. Extending a warm welcome to His Excellency & other invitees on the occasion, Dr. Madhu Chitkara congratulated the students on their success. She told them that they were graduating to the most amazing, stupefying challenge ever bequeathed to any generation. She asked them to trust themselves, to forget what is not possible, to do what needs to be done, and check to see if it was impossible only after they were done. In his much inspiring illustrious Convocation Address, His Excellency, Sh. Shivraj V. Patil, Governor, Punjab congratulated Dr. Ashok Chitkara and Dr. Madhu Chitkara for laying a robust foundation for this hallmark of excellence. Appreciating the role of University, Mr. Patil said that Chitkara University has been doing its duty in the best possible manner. He said that this University appears to be concentrating on the new areas which is bound to help us in the present and the future. He said that there are two sides of one world. One was outside of human beings, and other was inside of them. He said that the knowledge of the outer world should be acquired, and the process to acquire it should be continued perpetually, the knowledge of the inner world should also be acquired in a perpetual manner, and both the efforts should be done in harmonious manner. He asked students to enter the world outside of the University campus with positive bent of mind. He honoured the meritorious students with Gold and Silver medals. He announced Late S. Hazara Singh Shahi Annual Memorial award for four meritorious girl students of poor financial backgrounds and Lt Shri. ND Chitkara Memorial award for under privileged students for their academic excellence. The ceremony ended in euphoria with the students tossing their convocation hats.
