Report by Santanu Ganguly, New Delhi: SHEMROCK Group of Preschools, the first Playschool Chain in India, has started its 24th Annual Day at Dr. S Radhakrishnan Auditorium, Delhi Cantt. The entire event is conceptualised on the theme of “ShemEXPRESS” wherein the little SHEMROCKites are expressing their joy and love towards everyone, through glittering performances. A special performance was also showcased on the first day of the event, wherein these children performed on the title track of “Chhota Bheem” – which is a popular Indian animation series.
The first day of the Annual celebration was graced by the presence of Master Harsh Mayar, 58th National Film Award Winner (Best Child Actor) for the feature film “I Am Kalam”, who was invited as the Chief Guest. He was given a warm welcome by SHEMROCK staff and children. It was indeed a day of celebration for the children of SHEMROCK Preschools.
Harsh Mayar, lead actor of national award winning movie I Am Kalam, produced by smile foundation said,” “In our country, we have lot of hidden talent; we just need to explore it. Parents are the best companions for their children. They need to identify their child’s unique talent. I would request the parents not to force their expectations and dreams on them. Let them fly and find their own ways. They can of course be their mentor because without their guidance, finding a right path will be a difficult task.”
“SHEMROCK MegaShowcase 2013”, is a 5-day event starting from 12th to 16th March, 2013. More than 2500 SHEMROCKites from over 30 SHEMROCK branches across Delhi and NCR are participating in this event and around 5000 parents and grandparents are expected to witness the spectacular performance of their little ones. SMILE Foundation is associated as a Cause Partner for the entire event and several dignitaries from SMILE Foundation will also be present in the event. The five-day extravaganza has a wide range of performances varying from Synergy, Dance & Drama to Exhibition of stalls from Children’s books, DVDs, games etc.
SYNERGY (SHEMROCK’s Parent Participation Programme) is one of the highlighted programmes, wherein parents and grandparents have been invited to participate in the school activities. These activities are specially meant for parents, who can perform on the stage with their little ones in schools activities according to their interest.
On this initiative, Mrs. Meenal Arora, Executive Director, SHEMROCK Group of Preschools said, “In this young age, these toddlers are showing confidence on the stage, leaving the audience spell bound with their graceful performances at the annual day celebration.
