Report by Pratap Pradhan, Bhubaneswar: Odisha is all set to welcome President Pranab Mukherjee from today.  It will be his maiden visit to the state after assuming the office of the President of India in July last year.

As per the schedule the President will arrive at the Bhubaneswar airport on Wednesday at about 7.40 pm and spend the night at the Raj Bhavan. President Pranab Mukherjee will grace the 45th convocation of Utkal University as the chief guest on Thursday. The state administration and university authorities in full preparation to welcome the first citizen of the country.

On Thursday the president is scheduled to visit Puri Jagannath temple after the convocation and stay for sometime at the Rajbhaban. Special arrangements have been made by the temple administration to make a hassle-free visit.
President Pranab Mukherjee will confer prestigious 'Honoris Causa' on three persons at the 45th Annual Convocation of Utkal University. Governor of Odisha on Monday confirmed the Doctorate Degrees for Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, neurologist Dr. Sanatan Rath and former Chairperson of State Human Rights Commission Justice RK Patra.

This apart, Crime Branch ADG BK Sharma will receive gold medal for scoring highest marks in Legal Jurisprudence paper of LLB examination. Reportedly, 97 students will be felicitated with Gold medals and 237 students with PHD degrees at the convocation.
