“I have always done what I wanted to do in life, without the fear of failing”- said writer-director, Homi Adajania in a session with the students of PKSBE

 

Mumbai: Critically acclaimed for his engaging style of story-telling; writer-director, Homi Adajania has always aspired to convey unique perspectives and novelty through his work. At a candid session with the students of The Prahlad Kakar School of Branding and Entrepreneurship, Homi shared his experience and insightful knowledge in the domain of filmmaking.

Talking about the journey in the movie industry, Homi mentioned that his unbounded love for story-telling is what led him to be a filmmaker. Narrating his experiences and challenges while creating movies, he explained how creating the blockbuster romantic-comedy ‘Cocktail’ helped him face his fears, since it was a different genre of work.

In addition to this, the students were also educated about the influence of language in the movies. Homi’s satirical comedy, ‘Finding Fanny’ conceptualized in English was also dubbed in Hindi and the movie was released in both the languages. The high praises and positive response received from the audience post the release helped Homi learn the power of Hindi medium.

The talented writer-director later shared his inputs on the future of Virtual Reality in cinema and also discussed the potential that the web medium holds. Homi further also enlightened the students on how characterization plays an important role in filmmaking. As an advice to aspirants, he said, “Everyone should start doing short films and then move to larger mediums of story-telling.”

In closing, Homi Adajania shared plans for his upcoming projects and mentioned the unique experiences he strives to create for the audiences. On a similar note, Homi said, “All my movies are about having a good time, having a blast and taking good memories out of it…”
