Amity University partners with The Open University, UK for Research & Technology

New Delhi: As research and development becomes the driving force for economies, Amity University and Open University, UK come together for a joint research in the areas of Data Science, Space Science and Technology enhanced learning. RAPID 2020 (Research Action Plan In Development) held at Amity University Dubai resulted in signing of a promising MOU between the two renowned Universities.

In a high delegation meeting, Dr. W Selvamurthy (President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation) and Professor Kevin Hetherington (Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research, Enterprise and Scholarship, The Open University) signed this MoU. Development of joint research activities, Development of joint teaching initiatives, Research projects for AU students at OU, Access to research libraries for students and faculty, Internships for students are some major highlights of this collaboration. Road ahead of this collaboration will observe centre of excellence at multiple locations.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ajit K Chauhan (Deputy President, Amity Education Group) said “Amity has a demonstrated capacity of contributing to nation building through education and beyond. With this collaboration, Amity intends to lay foundation for accelerated and more efficient research action plan and teaching initiatives. We also foresee ignited young minds with the collaborative research projects.”

Dr Ian Forristal, Inaugural Director of Research & Enterprise, David Willett, Director of the Business Development Unit, Viren Patel, Director Corporate Sales, Prof. John Dominque, Director of Knowledge Media Institute, Dr. Bart Rienties, Professor, Learning Analytics at the Institute of Educational Technology were also present for the meeting amongst other delegates.
