Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur (BSDU)  Invites Applications for Bachelor of Vocation Programme in the discipline of  Automotive Skills

January, 2018: Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur (BSDU) invites applications for the Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) program in the discipline of Automotive Skills. The B.Voc curriculum in BSDU has been evolved with 60% Skills and 40% General Education Component, To supplement skills acquired at the BSDU, students are sent for industrial internship every alternate semester.  The UGC has included BSDU in its list of universities vide UGC letter no. F.8-14/2017 (CPP-I/PU) dated 04 August 2017. The UGC has approved B.Voc and M.Voc programs based on the National Skill Qualification Frame work to address the critical requirements of Skill sets to make the candidates industry ready. Students under this program shall acquire the necessary skills to diagnose and repair vehicle including computer controlled electronic systems on the latest models of automobiles.

Brig. SS Pabla, President BSDU said, “According to the Indian Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF) Dec 2017 report, the Indian auto industry is the largest in the world and accounts for 7.1% of the country’s GDP.  Considering this growth, the School of Automotive Skills was brought into existence in the year 2017 with a mission to impart knowledge, technical skills and hands-on training in automobiles, focusing on four wheelers both petrol and diesel, tractor and agricultural implements. The B.Voc program in the discipline of Automotive Skills has been designed to introduce students to the operation of today’s complex vehicles by giving them a comprehensive understanding, basic to advanced, of various automotive systems like Transmission, Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electrical and Electronics, Engine Performance etc. The Skill Component essentially covers the skills needed in a given area and is almost entirely hands on work on the state of the art machines and equipment sourced from the best brands worldwide.”

Brig. Pabla further added, “The objective of the B.Voc program in the discipline of Automotive Skills is to create end-to-end implementation framework for skill development in the automobile sector, providing opportunities for quality long term and short term skills training by providing gainful employment and ensuring career progression that meets the aspirations of trainees. The students undergoing the B.Voc program in the discipline of Automotive Skills will be eligible for various positions starting from entry level in the automobile sector of various brands of cars and tractors such as Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Mahindra, Toyota, Hyundai etc.”

Eligibility criteria to apply for B.Voc in the discipline of Automotive Skills the student must have passed 10 + 2 with PCM or ITI after 10th or Polytechnic Diploma.

Admission Process includes Entrance Test which will be conducted at BSDU Jaipur before admission. The test will cover syllabus of 10 + 2 in general.

Program specifications: B.Voc program is modular in nature and offers multiple entry and exit points at Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma and B.Voc. It has 6 semesters with 30 credits each resulting in a total of 180 credits to earn a B.Voc degree as follows:
