Havells India partners with PUSA ITI

 

New Delhi: In a bid to enhance the employability by imparting vocational training to the youth and reinforce its commitment to the Govt’s Skill India Mission, Havells has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Electrical Skill Center in PUSA ITI to provide industrial training to the youth and make them job ready.

In recent years, the manufacturing sector has been the major focus area for the government and initiatives are being taken up to bolster the growth of this sector. Realizing the importance of the manufacturing sector and the amount of employment it can generate, Havells Electrical Skill Centre aims to provide the requisite skill training in the electrical space to make the students employable in the manufacturing and allied sectors.

Under this partnership, Havells will impart trade specific training to close to 80 students on various aspects of repair and troubleshooting for industrial and consumer electrical products such as industrial switchgears, motors, water heaters, fans, domestic appliances etc. Havells will also upgrade the lab of the electrical skill centre with the latest testing equipment to enable the students to get a hands on experience and be industry ready. The company will also undertake the maintenance of the lab for 5 years and the students will be trained by the faculty of PUSA only.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. AV Jagdish, Havells India Limited said,” We are extremely delighted to partner with PUSA ITI as it is one of India’s leading ITI’s in India and this partnership will provide us an opportunity to empower our youth with skills and abilities thereby making them employable. This initiative will also foster our contribution to the Govt’s Skill India Mission and will help in catalyzing the skills landscape in India.”
