IIT Ropar and CSIR-CSIO join hands for “Academic Exchange and Scientific Research”

 

Rupnagar, Punjab: The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) and Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Academics as well as advancement in science and technology. The scope of this MoU also involves sharing of expertise, domain knowledge and available facilities in mutually agreed research areas (viz. Physics, Photonics, Optics, Chemistry, Biomedical, Material science and engineering, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Electronics, Computation, Mechanical Engineering and any other areas of common interest in science and engineering) for research and development.

Prof. Sarit K Das, Director IIT Ropar and Prof. R. K. Sinha, Director CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, have signed this MoU on behalf of Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) and Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) respectively. On this occasion, Senior officials from both the organizations were also present.

Speaking about the association with CSIO, Prof. S.K Das, Director, IIT Ropar said, “This MoU will facilitate exchange of Staff and Students towards co-supervision of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. theses, participation in research thus promoting interaction among the scientists, professors and research scholars of both the organizations.”

“This will help in pursuing joint research programs including externally funded schemes, Consultancy activities and will also facilitate collaboration in Teaching under the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research.”, he added.
