Last Minute Revision Tips

Given the vast syllabus of JEE Main entrance examination, revision should be the core of your preparation strategy. You can’t possibly remember every detail of the chapter you finished studying in November or December.  Therefore, you have to gear yourself up with a hand on strategy. Below are the last minute revision tips that will be useful –

Scan Through the Syllabus – You may have taken the print copy of your syllabus many months ago. It’s time to dig out those pieces of paper.  Depending upon your preparation level, clearly mark each chapter or topic in Green, Yellow and Red colors.  Use green to indicate those sections of the syllabus that you are well-versed with.  Mark that section of the syllabus with a yellow pen that requires further revision. Finally, indicate those sections in red in which your preparation is not that strong.

Develop a Revision Strategy – Now that the map of your preparation is before you, it’s time to develop a full-proof revision strategy.

  • Revise those sections first that are marked in Yellow. For instance, you may have finish studying and solving the chapter of complex numbers several months ago. However, in recent time you did not get the time to revisit the chapters, it’s advised to do it now.
  • Follow the yellow section with green. You may be confident in a given chapter or section, but it doesn’t hurt to strengthen the grasp further.
  • Stay away from red. Picking up a new topic to study at this crucial stage should be avoided. If you’re not confident about a particular section of the syllabus, its best to stay clear of it.

Identify do or die Chapters – Besides following the color coding strategy, another was to prioritize you revision is by identifying the do or die chapters of each syllabus. Based on previous question trends, some important chapters for Math’s, Physics and Chemistry are as below:
