Hyderabad:Dance of Democracy, a Mega Theatre Performance was performed in view of the coming general elections at the Hemanth Utsav, an annual cultural event of Abhyasa Intl School.

The Hemanth Utsav was graced by Prof Vishweshwar Rao, Former Vice Chancellor of Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore as Chief Guest.

Addressing the 2000 plus audience comprised of parents, guests, Prof Vishweshwar Rao said, we are living in knowledge society. But, our values are taking back seat even in such society.

Speaking further he stated that there is a minuscule percentage of difference in the ranking of world’s most top educational institutions like MIT, Harvard, Oxford and Stanford. There is a competitive race among them. That is the kind of competitive race must be built among students to analyse, argue and learn

Supriya Yarlagadda, Tollywood Actress and Director of Annapurna Studios, Former Actress Jamuna graced the event.

Speaking about the play Supriya said it was an incredible effort to put up shtick massive play for 90 minutes. I was stunned to witness the show she said.

The cultural programs —Mathruvandanam, Sankranthi Festive Dances organised showcased slice of Indian culture, argue and learn.

Abhyasa promoted Aalingana school children, performed Sankranthi Festive Dances. Aalingana is supported financially by Abhyasa School.

A record number of 400 students, unlike any school events, participated in the colourful opera presentation.

The school has a policy to involve every student. “No child is left behind”, proudly claimed Vinaayaka Kalleetla, CEO and Founder of Abhyasa Residential School.

The script for the play was written by students, they only selected properties for it, they selected their costumes for the role, recorded their voice, directed and acted. This is something most admiring. And that tradition is continuing for several years.

The 90 minute opera told citizens to excercise their democratic right judiciously, take responsibility for the consequences, rather than blame them later for their callousness.

Hemanth Utsav is held every year in January …to enable students to hone their artistic talents in the fields of dance, drama and music based on a contemporary theme that is of topical interest to the society, shared Vinaayaka Kalletla.

The Chief Guest invested the newly elected student leaders. He also presented awards and certificates to the toppers.
