LPU signs MoU with the French Institute in India, to open India’s First French Culture Centre

Jalandhar: LPU has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the French Institute in India, Institut Français en Inde (IFI). This cooperation is implemented through France’s network comprising of the French Institute in India, 14 Alliances Françaises, 2 research centres and 4 French schools. IFI and LPU have agreed to the areas of collaboration on academic, promotional and research related activities. Under this agreement, LPU and IFI are also setting up India’s first ‘Espace France’ within the premises of LPU in September. The Espace France is a space for promoting France and providing information on study opportunities and preparation for leaving for France, as well as on the French language and culture for LPU students and staff. Dr Bertrand de Hartingh, Counsellor for education, science and culture, French Embassy in India signed this agreement for the establishment of the Espace France.

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal shared: “LPU is creating more international opportunities for its students’ perfect development so that they may prove themselves as globally fit citizens. This initiative taken by LPU will benefit students who aspire to pursue studies in France by giving them a detailed exposure to the French language and culture.”

Illustrative, Institut Français en Inde (IFI) is the cooperation service of France in the domains of university collaborations, student mobility, French language, visual and performing arts, heritage and architecture, cinema, literature, sports, gastronomy, urban development and more.
