Mahindra Ecole Centrale launches Entrepreneurship & Innovation Cell

Bhubaneswar: Mahindra Ecole Centrale, a leading international technology school, based at Hyderabad, launched an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell(EIC) at its campus. At the inauguration of the EIC, leading entrepreneurs and innovators shared their own start-up journeys and their key takeaways from their experience.

The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell will be the stepping stone for the future of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the campus itself. The EIC will host events, workshops, industrial visits and seminars, all aimed at providing a conducive environment for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills.

“It is a proud moment for MEC today and we eagerly look forward to setting up an incubation centre in the near future. We also intend to fund viable student projects to experience entrepreneurship at its best. Our vision at MEC is to encourage students to regard entrepreneurship as a way of life”, says Dr. Yajulu Medury, Director, MEC.

At the inaugural Session, the Chief Guest was Mr. Ajit Rangnekar, Former Dean of Indian School of Business & Director General of Research & Innovation Centre of Hyderabad and a Partner at SVP India. He said, “MEC will be an important asset for us in the entrepreneurial society. There is no end to learning, the main motive of this cell should be to get hands-on experience in entrepreneurship before stepping out into the real world. It is a very rough journey down there, perseverance, hard work and innovation are key to success in this field”

The inaugural event provided Insights into the ever-developing field of Entrepreneurship and had sessions with successful entrepreneurs who discussed their stories along with the methods to be sustainable after starting up and living upto ever changing demands.

The main speakers at the inaugural session included:

· Hemanth Jannalagadda, Co-Founder and COO at Commut (acquired by Shuttl and Careem). Commut is a technology enabled shuttle services provider with the aim to make commute comfortable, cost effective and safe

· Sainath Gupta, Founder and CEO of PrimeTrade AI and Founder of AasanPay. PrimeTradeAI is all about combining the Human instinct, insights and wisdom with AI based bots to maximize the profits

· KruthiGelli, Founder and Proprietor of MyCreamChip. She originally trained as a lawyer, but today runs her own food truck, which serves, fusion dessert of ice-cream and homemade cookies.

· Chinmay Rahuja, Founder of ClapOne.com (CEO) and Livastar. Livastar makes it super easy to discover and buy the products used by your celebrities in the movies.

The EIC will offer various resources and opportunities to help students give shape to their ideas and offer them opportunities to promote their ideas in the market space. The focus is going to be on providing an ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship so that ideas can be brought to fruition. The EIC will be a platform to provide insights into the ever-developing field of Entrepreneurship. Dr. Rajkumar Phatate a Professor & Head-Centre of Entrepreneurship at MEC was also present.
