A total of 64 students, in the age group of 10 to 14 years, participated in the MUSS training session in two batches and got a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience how it feels to train like a Manchester United player. The day-long session was conducted by Neil Scott and Damian Sweeney – coaches from the famous Manchester United Soccer Schools programme. The session focused on a variety of different technical areas, such as dribbling, short passing, turning and finishing, with the aim of providing young players with the tools and confidence to improve their own game.

Football star and the Manchester United F.C. Legend, Quinton Fortune, said, “I moved to Europe from South Africa at a young age to play for the professional clubs there, and since I have experienced the challenges at the highest level, I always look forward to mentoring the next generation footballers. It was a great session today at Shiv Nadar School and I was impressed with the children’s motivation and knowledge of the game. The young Indian footballers are talented and have the potential to create a mark in the international football arena with the right coaching and guidance.”

Col Gopal Karunakaran, CEO, Shiv Nadar School said, “We are delighted to host this Manchester United Soccer Schools training session at Shiv Nadar School and offer our students an opportunity to interact with and learn from a legend like Quinton Fortune. To become a true sporting nation, we need to develop a sporting culture, beginning right at the school level. At Shiv Nadar School we are committed to exposing our students to a variety of sports and offer them guidance and coaching from some of the best national and international trainers. Today’s session was a part of the same effort and I am glad that students from all our three schools participated in this program.”
