MVIRDC World Trade Center to hold One-day virtual MDP on Foreign Trade Policy on Friday

Mumbai: A one-day management development program (MDP) on “India’s Foreign Trade Policy: The Road Ahead” will be held on Friday April 23 with focus on export promotion schemes to unleash the hidden potential of micro, small and medium enterprises.

Organised by the MVIRDC World Trade Center’s, Mumbai Institute of Education, the six-hour virtual MDP bifurcated into two sessions of three hours each will also act a curtain raiser to the 64th batch of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade schedule by April end or early May.

The MDP, which will be conducted by Arvind Khedkar, eminent international trade expert, will be equally useful for both working professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs focused on pursuing international business by accessing global markets.

The first session of the MDP will dwell over the broad categories of India’s FTP spread over the past seven decades, incentives and schemes and role of WTO in international trade, etc. The second session will cover the overview and objective of international business, concepts of international marketing, entry strategies for international business, promoting international business beyond Special Economic Zones (SEZs), etc.

The MDP will be followed by the six-month PGDFT that will be conducted thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 6-8PM.

The course curriculum will be covered in over 80 sessions covering five taught modules namely, foreign trade policy, international marketing, customs management, Exim financial management and logistics management with practical case studies.

The course will end with a project assignment and viva voce test. Candidates who have a bachelor degree or diploma are eligible, besides those looking to pursue a career in international trade, can apply for this course.
