Odisha Government directs all schools across state to follow precautionary guidelines for combating heat wave

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has directed all educational institutions including public and privately managed schools for undertaking various precautionary and preparatory measures to mitigate possible heat wave during this summer.

As per the direction of School and Mass Education Department, all schools have to reschedule their timing of classes between 6.30 am – 10.30 pm with effect from April 1 while the Mid Day Meal (MDM) have to be served at 10 am and the government in no case allows the schools to remain open beyond 11 am.

On the other hand, all schools are instructed to complete their exercise assessment examinations by 31 March with adequate quantity of drinking water and first aid provision.

The academic session of 2017-18 in all schools will be commenced from April 3 and the summer vacation is scheduled to start from 3rd May.

The School and Mass Education Department of the state government has prepared these above stated guidelines for the educational institutions across the state for combating the heat wave this summer.
