President of Alexandria University Welcomes Consul General of France

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, received Ambassador Lina Blin, Consul General of France in Alexandria, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Alexandria University and French academic institutions.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ali Abdelmohsen, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Ziad El-Sayyad, professor at the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Heba Gharraf, professor at the Faculty of Medicine and responsible for Francophone relations at the university.
In his speech, Dr. Konsowa welcomed the ambassador to Alexandria University, stressing the university’s keenness to continue cooperation with French institutions in scientific and academic fields of common interest. He pointed to academic cooperation and joint degrees between Alexandria University and a number of French universities, namely the universities of Nice, Aix-Marseille, Poitiers, and Bordeaux, expressing his aspiration for more scientific and research cooperation and the exchange of faculty members and students. He also pointed to the scientific programs offered by the university in French language at the faculties of medicine, law, business, science and agriculture, and the role of the Alexandria University branch in Chad as a platform to serve French-speaking African countries within the framework of the university’s strategic plan towards the internationalization of education, and establishing branches of highly-ranked foreign universities in cooperation and coordination with Alexandria University.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of cooperation to establish joint scientific programs and dual degrees with French universities, exchanging experiences in the fields of climate change and improving the marine environment, and linking young Egyptian researchers with French universities within the framework of the Alexandria University’s Technology Incubator and Technology Park.
