Punjab Minister for Technical Education inaugurated 4-Day Mega Job Fair at LPU Campus

 

Jalandhar: Minister of Technical Education & Industrial Training in the Punjab government, Charanjit Singh Channi inaugurated ‘Mega Job Fair’ today at Lovely Professional University campus. The job-fair is slated to run for four days from 30th August to 2nd September 2017. Eager to avail coveted offers made by visiting national and international companies at LPU campus, thousands of graduate & post-graduate candidates had registered on the portal www.ggnpunjab.com. Prestigious companies including Concentrix, Axis Securities, Indus Ind Bank, Micro Labs, Policy Bazar, Just Dial, Decathlon, Mahindra Swaraj, Alkem Labs, Big Bazar, Share Khan, Max Life Insurance and many other have lined up to recruit the suitable candidates. The selection is based on performance of the applicants in written examination, skills test and personal interview. Chairman Lovely Group Mr Ramesh Mittal accorded a floral welcome to Mr Minister.
Addressing candidates, LPU students and staff members, Minister Channi thanked LPU for being a great part of the government initiative and informed: “A few days ago Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had launched “Ghar Ghar Naukri” scheme. I am happy to note that this mammoth-job campaign at LPU is to solidify state government’s anticipations for providing employment to 50,000 young men-women of the state. CM Punjab would hand over appointment letters to the selected candidates on 5th September at Mohali (Chandigarh).”Taking examples from his personal life, Mr Minister advised students: “Be an all rounder and set target for your life along with a set time table to achieve that.” Illustrative, State government has also planned to set up employment bureau in each district of the state by upgrading the employment exchanges so that each and every qualified person may get a job.
Congratulating the government in taking necessary steps for settlement of qualified unemployed youth of the state, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal says: “We are happy to be a part of the government initiative and are very keen in sharing responsibility of providing jobs to almost each and every aspiring candidate. By hosting this enormous job-fair we hope that thousands of young persons are going to secure jobs for their bright future ahead. We also keep on guiding our students that they should always be industry ready to grab the opportunities as and when these knock their doors.” Mr Mittal added: “Our brilliant team at LPU Division of Career Services is trying hard from tip to toe to ensure that this largest jobs providing affair may prove as one of the illustrious ones in the history of such endeavours. I wish that all aspiring candidates be successful in availing the opportunity befalling at their door-steps.”
Worth mentioning, LPU has also made suitable arrangements for accommodating the large number of aspiring candidates, right from their campus entry to the place of their final interview. 500+ student volunteers and staff members have been specially deputed to guide the candidates.
