Seminar on ‘Challenges for Language Technology’ concludes

Aligarh: The Department of Linguistics, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised the Valedictory Function and Certificate distribution programme of the two-day national seminar on ‘Challenges for Language Technology’ held at the IT lab of the department.

Presiding over the function, Professor R C Sharma (Former chairperson, Department of Linguistics, Delhi University) discussed the use of language technology and the need to have technological knowledge and skills.

The chief-guest, Professor Ravinder Gagesh also emphasised the importance of language technology.

Professor Ali R Fatihi (Chairperson, Department of Linguistics) delivered the welcome address, while Dr Pallav Vishnu presented the seminar report. Dr L Ramamoorthy (Head, Linguistic Data Consortium for Indian Languages) gave the concluding remarks.
