New Delhi: Microsoft India today announced that it has appointed Avnet and Redington as its Value-Added Distributors in the country in a move aimed at creating an enhanced and superior level of service for partners and customers in the SMB space on the latest technologies. The Value-Added Distributors role is built on a unique business model with a specialized resource portfolio optimized for increasing adoption and market development of specialty solutions. Under this tie-up, Avnet will provide complete solutions to Microsoft's value-added resellers for 'Virtualization & Management and Identity & Security' and Redington will cater to 'Unified Communications, Security and Cloud Services' and would reach out to all cities across India, adding to the reach and presence portfolio of Microsoft. According to Rajiv Sodhi, Director, India SMB at Microsoft, "We are delighted to introduce our global Value-Added Distributor program to the India market that aims to provide strong support for newer technologies and offer value to our customers. Our partners, Avnet and Redington have experience and expertise in providing services and products for Virtualization, Unified Communications, Security and Cloud, and we are confident that they will help us strengthen our support to the customers specifically, small-and-mid-size enterprises to capture increased market share." Redington and Avnet will provide the distributors/channel partner with highly skilled technical support to offer deep expertise for world-class customer satisfaction. Value-Added Distributors will offer training, and educate and help resellers understand the customer requirements to deliver appropriate solutions, focusing on SMEs where requirements are specific. Value-Added Distributors will further offer post-sales services to enhance the end-customer experience. "Virtualization presents a growing opportunity for the channel community.
