Sri Sri University celebrates its 7 th Commencement Day

Cuttack: Sri Sri University held its Commencement ceremony to start the 7th academic
year today, for its undergraduate and post graduate students from diverse fields viz., Commerce and Management, Agriculture, Architecture, Yogic Sciences, Osteopathy, Sanskrit, English, Physics, Computer Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, Good Governance and Public Policy, Fine Arts and Performing Arts in the presence of esteemed leaders from academia and the industry.

Seven years since its inception, Sri Sri University has grown from 46 students in its charter MBA batch to more than 2000 students and staff from almost all over India and seven countries of the world across several fields of study.

The ceremony started with cultural performances by the faculty and students of Performing Arts and Yogic Sciences and an introduction speech by Captain Chandrashekhar Panda, Director of Students Affairs, Sri Sri University. The Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, Commissioner cum Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha imparteed handy life principles tips to the students. He believed that the
students of the University will contribute to the nation building in a big way. He also advised the students to “attribute everything good to God” and that the race of life doesn’t begin or end either at college or workplace but continues throughout one’s life. He also believed that this institution will make its students inquisitive and happy individuals.

Mrs Rajita Kulkarni, Member, Board of Governors and Designated President listed down five points for the students to be followed in life for exceptional success, namely – Decide upon a goal and write it down; Work hard; Read, write, listen, speak and network; Practice gratitude on a daily basis to experience a transformational change in oneself and be your own person. She assured the freshers of class 2018 that, they will not only learn
in their classrooms but also learn in life lessons in the Campus.
Dr. Nand Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Sri University, asked the students to not only connect to themselves in this transformational journey but also connect and contribute to the larger society. He congratulated the new, first year students and wished them luck for the coming years of transformational experience at Sri Sri University. Mr Narendra Lamba, Director of Operations, Sri Sri University also gave a warm welcome to the students of the
new academic session 2018-19. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks offered by Commodore Ghanshyam Ojha, Executive Registrar, Sri Sri University.

“This is the first time my daughter will be staying away from home and thus, I was a bit worried if she will be able to cope up with the challenges ahead of her all by herself. But, after staying here for a couple of days and listening to the speakers of this commencement day, I feel relaxed and privileged that she will be a part of this beautiful university. I am now confident that she will not only excel academically and professionally but also
holistically.” a parent told.

“Today’s commencement day was really inspiring and I grabbed a lot of knowledge points from the experienced speakers which I shall definitely put to use in my life ahead. I am proud to be the 1st batch of B.Osteopathy student in the innovative University said Ms Kajol Doshi, the undergraduate Osteopathy student.

The university which was established in 2012, by spiritual leader and the Founder of Art of Living Foundation, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has the vision of incorporate the best of western innovation and the best of eastern wisdom and values.
