Students of Amity Business School spreads the message of “Say No to Plastic’ and raise funds for the underprivileged children during two day Diwali Mela

New Delhi: Spreading awareness on the consequences of using plastic and also raising funds for Amity Humanity Foundation, students of Amity Business School (ABS) has organized a two day “Aarambh – Diwali Mela 2019” at University campus, Sector 125 Noida.

This year’s theme was “War Against Plastic” wherein students are encouraging to make India a plastic free nation.

The mela included items sourced from different NGOs in and around Delhi such as Arushi, Blessings, Our Voix, Pot Head (nursery) and students of ABS has also put up stalls of food, games, clothes, candles, decorations etc.

Inaugurating the mela, Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation lauded the students for the theme and stressed that the responsibility falls upon the shoulders of the youth to save the country and the world, at large, from the growing plastic menace. She called upon the students to encourage one another to make small changes in everyday lives, which will subsequently aid in conservation of environment in a bigger way.

Sharing his views, Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Director- Amity Business School said that Aarambh – Diwali Mela 2019 is an opportunity to form new bonds while celebrating our cherished cultures, heritage and values. He averred that it is important for youth to be aware about the environmental issues and spread awareness about the same as it will lead to sustainable development for future.

The mela witnessed the footfall of thousands of students, staff and faculty members of Amity University who participated in games, enjoyed scrumptious food and purchased eco-friendly & handmade products for Diwali.
