Thousands of Amitians celebrate 72nd Independence Day at #Amity University

 

To honor and remember the sacrifices of our great leaders and freedom fighters, 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor and gaiety by thousands of faculty members, staff and students of Amity University, who were decked up in beautiful tri-color attires and accessories.

The celebrations commenced with the Flag Hoisting by Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh and Dr. (Prof) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh in the presence of Mrs. Pooja Chauhan, Vice Chairperson, Amity Humanity Foundation; Mr. Abhay Chauhan, CEO, schoolshop.com; Mrs. Jaishree Chauhan, Vice Chairperson, Amity Finishing School and other senior officials of Amity.

During the occasion, students presented a colorful cultural extravaganza of soul soothing dance performances and melodious patriotic songs including Ae Watan, Ae Mere watan ke logo, Desh mere desh mere- meri jaan hai tu, Suno gaur se duniya walo, saare jahan se acha and many more. The brilliant performers and best dressed as per day’s theme were also awarded.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Atul Chauhan stated that the youth should understand the meaning and importance of freedom; our forefathers have struggled to ensure free and independent India for coming generations. He stressed that youth has been entrusted with the great responsibility to lead India onto the path of growth, success and glory. He opined he is proud of Amitians who have come together in such a large number to celebrate Independence Day which shows the love and respect Amity family has for the nation. Dr. Chauhan shared that it is the vision of Founder President- Dr. Ashok K Chauhan that every Amitian should contribute, in his or her own way, towards the development of nation.

Sharing her views, Dr. Balvinder Shukla said that India owes its freedom to the people who kept country before their own selves and did not even think twice before sacrificing their lives. She called upon the students to let the spirit and flame of patriotism alive in them throughout their lives and try serving the country in whichever way they can. Dr. Shukla apprised that Amity has been encouraging the youth to be the future entrepreneurs, as entrepreneurship will aid the country ahead towards development.
