Top global leaders from France, Mexico & India attended International Conference on Composite Materials at LPU

Jalandhar: The School of Mechanical Engineering (SME) at Lovely Professional University (LPU) organized 3-Day International Conference on Composite Materials, Manufacturing, Experimental Techniques, Modelling & Simulation (ICCMMEMS-2018), where top global leaders from France, Mexico, India and more reached LPU campus. They guided LPU Students about the conversion of their ‘Wisdom into Wealth’ for making India top global economic power. For the conference 500+ research papers were received from 15 countries including Australia Canada, US, Germany, Singapore and more. Of these research papers, 200 were selected for presentation during different technical sessions, and 112 are forwarded for Scopus Index Publication.

Inaugural address of the conference was made by Director NISCAIR (CSIR) Dr Manoj Kumar Patairiya, who lamenting the regularly increasing imports made by the country, inspired students to learn the art of conversion of their wisdom into wealth for making India top global economic power. In fact, India imports maximum number of things from other countries; however, export of science and technology based things from India to other countries is not on the same level. Country’s creative brains work for other countries, thus India remains devoid of export on these lines.

Applauding invisible roles of mechanical engineers in great achievements of the world, Dr Manoj inspired LPU ME and other engineering students: “Focusing on your scientific temperament, keep on learning how to be more analytical and systematic and make the most of the time of “Composites” we are living in now. Learn how to connect your wisdom to wealth through your scientific bent. I advise you to take right kind of decision at right point of time, and never allow time to take the decision to be repented later by you. Keep always this in mind that ‘since time immemorial science and technology in unison have been helping humanity continuously for its varied needs’.”

Keynote speakers at the conference, Prof Dr Noe Alba-Baena from Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez of Mexico and Prof Dr Prasantha Kalappa from IMT Lille-Douae of France informed the participating 2000+ engineers that right from wood, bricks, ceramic composites to present day as robotic composite-materials including sensing, computation and communication play vital roles in our day to day life. Laying informative stress on advanced nano-technology and more, they told that such materials like reinforced plywood, polymer, fiber-glass are stronger, lighter, and less expensive than traditional materials. UGV Technical Lead at the Hi-Tech Robotic Systemz Ltd Mr Gaurav Singh, Dean NITTR Chandigarh Dr BS Pabla and Head Industrial Engineering Deptt NIT Dr Vishal Sharma also attended the conference as speakers.

Prior to this, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal applauded mechanical engineering students as the most creating part of the universe, although their services are not recognized as per the worth from the fore-fronts. He invoked ME students to keep on working marvelously to show the entire world that this is the field for which LPU is known throughout the world. At this point, he took illustrations from the commendable works done by them in the participation towards auto-expo with 17+ auto designs, effi-cycle competitions, robots making, go-karts racing and more.
