Vidya Niketan School lift the trophy as Champions of KBD Juniors Pune

Pune: In a test of strength and passion for Kabaddi, the KBD Juniors matches saw Vidya Niketan School emerge the winner in the final match against The Bishops School – 47:30 at Badminton Hall, Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex. Inspired by their VIVO Pro Kabaddi Team ‘Puneri Paltan’, Vidya Niketan School went on to dominate every match on their way to lift the trophy.

In all, a total of 8 city schools displayed an enthusiastic power play to build and keep the excitement circling Pro Kabaddi League intact. This is perhaps the best concerted effort to salute India’s home-grown sport and take it to the masses.

Prior to the finals, the two semi-final matches witnessed by the audience, where D Y Patil Public School tested their mettle against The Bishop’s School, and Vidya Niketan School took on MES Boys School.

Among participating schools in the KBD Juniors were from The Lexicon International School, Kalyani Nagar, The Bishop’s School, Army Public School, Camp, Loyola High School, D Y Patil International School, MES Boys High School, Caelum High School Undri, and Vidya Niketan School. Families, principals, teachers turned up in good numbers as they cheered their wards on to deliver their best.

The Vivo Pro Kabaddi League fever in its 5th season has already gripped a large number of audiences and fans in Pune. The championship contenders Puneri Paltan have put up a phenomenal performance in season 5 and are doing exceptionally well in front of their home crowd.

With champions in Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Kolkata, Sonipet, Ranchi, New Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur and now the last one being in Pune, brings the curtain down on the first ever KBD Junior Championships.
