10-day entrepreneurship programme for women concludes at Ramban

 

RAMBAN : The ten-days training programme of Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) under Tejaswini scheme for aspiring women entrepreneurs concluded here today.

At the valedictory function organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Ramban, Chairperson District Development Council Ramban, Dr Shamshad Shan and Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam interacted with the pass outs of 2nd batch involving 52 self-employment women aspirants besides advising them to start their profitable business units as per demand of market.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson congratulated all women aspirants for choosing entrepreneurship as a career. She said that this initiative is a part of the women empowerment programme of the Government by providing financial assistance to them for setting up gainful self-employment ventures. The initiative will enhance socio economic status and lead to integration of women in nation building, she added.

While sensitizing the young women about benefits of different schemes, the Deputy Commissioner assured them support from the District Administration to help them in establishing fresh business ventures and up-scaling of the existing small business units.

Participants hailing from Banihal, Gool, Magarkote, Sangaldan and Rajgarh areas of the district also shared their experiences besides showing their interest in manufacturing, services and agriculture and allied activities.

The Nodal officer JKEDI informed that the aspirants were trained for dairy farming, establishment of small business ventures like Boutiques, multi-utility stores, beauty salons, shuttering houses, retail and wholesale outlets, drug stores and electrical goods etc.

Later, the DDC Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner also distributed certificates among trained women.

Chief Planning Officer, Dr Kasturi Lal; Assistant Director Employment, Naresh Kumar, who is also the Nodal Officer Mission Youth and Nodal Officer, JKEDI, Yashpal Sharma among various others attended the function.
