10 Lakh Class X & XII students to be mentored for CBSE Board exams under Project Lakshya
New Delhi: Project Lakshya, a comprehensive project aimed at supporting 10 lakh students preparing for the Class X and XII CBSE board exams in February and March 2023, was announced today by Action Committee and Career Launcher Foundation. The free exam support helpline is designed with the twin goals of mentor students on specific subjects – helping them prepare better for the CBSE Board exams — and providing them both psychological and emotional support. The ambitious project is the cumulative effort of Action Committee, India’s largest umbrella organization of unaided recognized public schools, and Career Launcher Foundation, the CSR arm of CL Educate.
The free Project Lakshya helpline will provide students with special subject-related sessions, doubt solving support, All India mock exams with analysis and emotional and psychological counselling support for students and parents offering six services to the students of Class X and XII. These include live sessions will be on important subjects covering concept revision and the most important questions in 7 subjects like Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Accounts, Economics, Business Studies and Political Science for Class XII and two subjects i.e. Mathematics and Science for Class X, how to write answers and tackle special or difficult or tricky problems, Doubt solving on Telegram Channel, Subject-wise All India Mocks and detailed analysis, Marathon sessions on Mathematics from 10 pm to 2 am for Class X and XII, Counselling and emotional support for handling exam stress and counselling by eminent psychologists and counsellors.
The board exam helpline will also have specific sessions conducted by subject matter experts and by psychologists. There would also be available the ‘Talk to Me’ facility for any student who wishes to have personalized attention. This would be in the form of email or telegram group or a telephonic conversation. While the experts will be anchoring this process, the helpline will refrain from any interventions or repair works during the course of this program.
According to Mr. R. Sreenivasan, Director, Career Launcher Foundation, “In Class X & XII board examination, every mark matters. Whether we like it or not, the percentage of marks that is scored in these board examinations matter for the entire academic and professional life of the student.”
An important fact of CBSE exams is that there are about 30 lakh students who will appear for their X & XII exams this year. CL Foundation intends to reach out to at least 10 lakh students, in partnership with various government and non-profit entities.
Mr. Bharat Arora, one of the founding members of Action Committee & founder of chain of K12 schools, was very vocal about the enthusiasm he felt when he mentioned, “In my 30 plus years of experience as an education provider and administrator, I have always believed that efforts such as this, add great value to the students’ outcomes and also offer the emotional and other support for the youngsters. At Action Committee, we are delighted to partner with CL Foundation for this plot project and take this to all our member and other schools across the country.”
For this student welfare initiative, Career Launcher Foundation plans to partner with various government departments including Union Education Ministry and State Education Departments to spread awareness. Individual schools and chain of schools can also be a part of this noble cause by spreading the word amongst their students and parents. This joint project foresees implementation across the country with a few state Governments such as UP, Delhi, Sahodaya schools and so on to reach 5 lakh beneficiaries.
The sessions will be a mix of recorded, self-paced lessons that the students will be able to access and study at their own convenience along with live online sessions delivered by expert faculty members. These live sessions would also be available to students in their academic dashboard on LMS (Aspiration.ai). The study material will be available in the form of PPTs and notes on the LMS. The program is relevant for CBSE board student only. However, since the core content and the concepts remain more or less the same, the students from other boards are also welcome to access and draw the benefit from the program. The medium of communication would be a mix of Hindi and English, hence understanding will not be a problem for anyone.
