100+ Educators of Delhi Schools empowered with Transformative Holistic Leadership Training Program by AYUDH and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
Amritapuri – AYUDH, the youth wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, ranked under top 10 best university in the NIRF 2023 rankings, recently conducted a 4-Day Holistic Leadership Training Program; in collaboration with the Department of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, and the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The initiative aimed at equipping teachers and education experts who nurture future talents from schools across with the essential skills and knowledge to become compassionate, joyful, and effective leaders in education.
The training program, titled “Holistic Leadership Camp,” took place at the Amritapuri Campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and garnered participation from 101 individuals, including teachers ranging from primary to senior levels, principals, and deputy directors from the Department of Education. The program was graced by Shri Himanshu Gupta (IAS), Director of Education, Department of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi; Ms. Rita Sharma, Director SCERT, Department of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi; Manish Jain, Deputy Director, SCERT, Swami Amritaswaroopanandapuri, Vice-Chairman of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mokshamrita, National Coordinator, AYUDH India, Dr.Balakrishnan Sankar ,Dean Engineering, Amrita university, Mr.Pradeep Gupta, Facilitator and delegates from the State Council for Educational Research. The comprehensive multiple training sessions were led by distinguished team of experts and faculties from AYUDH, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and various parts of India and the world.

Through this training program is aimed at providing a blend of modern best practices in leadership, along with the age old ancient wisdom of Bharat. Unless and until today’s educators become good leaders, they cannot become good role models for students. The learnings from this program hold immense potential to transform the mindsets of our teachers and students towards a progressive, positive, and compassionate education system. One of the highlights of the program was its experiential nature. Participants had the opportunity to witness holistic leadership in action and discover the six pillars of education. The program emphasized the importance of connecting culture and values to unleash the true potential of students. We plan to disseminate these valuable insights among our educational fraternity in Directorate of Education Schools in Delhi so that it has a cascading effect, said Manish Jain, Deputy director, SCERT
The training sessions encompassed various aspects of mentoring and leadership in the field of education, offering invaluable insights and practical tools. It covered a wide range of topics including the core purpose of education, innovative and compassionate leadership, self-management, fostering compassion and better communication, and the value-based education system. The ability to exemplify the teachings through practical demonstrations and real-life examples made the learning experience engaging and relatable. Alongside the instructional sessions, participants also engaged in meditation training and were treated to a range of vibrant cultural programs, enriching their overall experience.
In a special interaction, a group of teachers had the privilege of visiting Mata Amritanandamayi Math and meeting Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. The renowned spiritual leader discussed with the teachers the paramount importance of compassion in education and the need to emphasize education for living and education for life. The participants were awarded with certificates to acknowledge their participation in the course.
