100% Vaccinated students shall report to classes;RAT mandatory for Students below 18 years: DC Budgam
BUDGAM : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today in his routine press briefing about COVID-19 status said that unless we follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and adhere to all SOPs there is every apprehension that positive cases may rise again.
The DC said that from the past few weeks we have been witnessing an increase in the number of cases in some areas resulting in designation of some new Micro containment zones. He said with the opening of educational institutions from class 10th to 12th more precautions and safety measures are foremost needed.
Mirza once again appealed for 100 percent vaccination of all who fall in the age group of 18 to 44 years, particularly students shall ensure that they are vaccinated before entering classes. He added that students below the age of 18 shall have (RAT) mandatory in case they have to attend classes.
Regarding current status, the DC said presently there are 142 active positive cases in the district, recovery rate is 99 percent while positivity rate stands at 0.46 percent.
