12th Convocation held at B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology

Chennai – B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology held its 12th Convocation at its campus today. A total of 2340 graduands including 44 Ph.D., 501 PG and 1795 UG received their degree at the Convocation ceremony.
51 Students were awarded Gold Medals for securing top ranks. Of this 33 students were from UG and 18 students were from PG. The Convocation was held as per the safety protocol norms as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu due to the on-going pandemic. Based on the restrictions 578 students received their degrees in person and 1762 students attended the convocation online. The degrees were handed over to the students by
Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES)., Govt. of India, New Delhi.
Also present on the occasion were dignitaries including BSACIST Chancellor Mr.BSA Arif Buhary Rahman, Pro Chancellor Mr. Abdul Qadir A Rahman Buhari, Vice Chancellor Dr.A.Peer Mohamed, Registrar Dr. N. Raja Hussain & Members of the Board of management.

Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES)., Govt. of India, New Delhi in his convocation address congratulated the graduands on receiving the degrees and remarked, “Mostly we are technology followers and not leaders in many areas. It should be our aspirations and dream that in the next 25 years, that is, in the 100th year of independence, (AMRIT KAL) we should be an innovation and technology leader, pathfinders and not followers. This is possible only when you all contribute to your fullest energy and dedication to bring out new innovation and ideas. Only innovation can propel productivity and thereby GDP of any country.”
Presenting the welcome address and report, the VC Dr.A.Peer Mohamed said, ” the academic year 2021-22, proved to be a successful year with lots of opportunities for the institution, its faculty and students to explore new avenues of learning and application of the knowledge for the benefit of our planet – both man and nature- through innovative projects. The progress we make each year compels us to revise our goals and raise the bar so that we break into the top ten rankings very soon.

The convocation was dissolved after Pledge was taken by the successful graduates followed by the National Anthem.
