To tackle society’s most complex problems, such as the one we are facing at the moment, a firm understanding of policy is essential. Distinctiveness of programme lies in promoting understanding, realization and ability to take value based decision. The programme is more than an exchange of evidence and experience.”

While speaking to the participants Prof. Ajay Kr. Jain, Dean, Executive Graduate Programmes emphasized that the programme is a great opportunity for the participants to enhance decision making skills and values.

The public policy delivery mechanism went through a transformation due to the ongoing global health crisis. One need to understand that success in managing such a crisis depends on disentangling policy formulation from policy implementation. These policy formulations require an understanding of the nature of the problem, the development of solutions, and then making a decision on the preferred pathway. This 15-month programme offers a unique integration of management concepts, tools and techniques with stress on public policy formulation, analysis and implementation, including the design and execution of delivery systems. The programme includes four important components; approximately 670 hours of discussion and deliberation on wide spectrum of domain knowledge in classroom with real life case method approach, rural immersion to enhance understanding about local conditions and explore innovative and sustainable solutions; international immersion to develop international perspective and writing of policy paper. After the participants have gained local, national and global knowledge on public policy, there is a requirement to translate their knowledge into a policy paper.

The ceremony was attended virtually by incoming participants, faculty and staff. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Vishal Narain, Professor of Public Policy and Governance, MDI Gurgaon.
