2-day Jashn-e-Rajouri festival concludes

 

RAJOURI : The Directorate of Tourism, Jammu in collaboration with District Administration Rajouri organized a Two Day Cultural Event at Rajouri town under the theme “Jashn-e-Rajouri”.

It is pertinent to mention here that this is the third segment of the said cultural festival which was started in 2019 by the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu.

The said cultural festival coincided with the celebrations of the 75th Azaadi ka Ait Mahotsav. On the first day of the event, one mega cultural event was organized wherein the artist groups from all across the Union Territory participated and presented colourful cultural performances which enthralled the audiences and all the visiting guests.

The event was a confluence of cultural folk show, dance performances and local art wherein the tourism beauty and potential of Pir Panjal area was given special emphasis and Digital Display Screens were installed for this purpose at the venue PWD DAK BUNGLOW LAWNS. The cultural performances included Diku Dance from Kishtwar, Thaali Dance from Ramban, Kud performance from Bhaderwah, Dogri performance from Jammu, Pahadi and Gojri Song and Dance performances by local artist groups among others. The artists were enthralled by the Sufi presentation of local singing groups and Deepali Wattal and team. The event also witnessed participation by various departments regarding awareness of various central government schemes. The first day of the event culminated with a diverse cultural exchange involving artists from all across the UT.

On the second day of the event at Auditorium of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, one multi lingual Mushaira was organized wherein the poet’s from all across the Union Territory participated and engaged the audiences with their engaging poetry and presentations. The Directorate of Tourism, Jammu intends to continue such events in the future to promote tourism promotional events in the area.

The event was attended by the DDC Chairman Rajouri Naseem Liaquat, DC Rajouri Rajesh Kumar Shavan, ADDC Rajouri Pawan Kumar Parihar, ADC Rajouri Sachin Dev Singh, CEO Rajouri Development Authority Vivek Puri, ASP Rajouri Vivek Shekhar, AD Tourism Rajouri Ms. Ambika Bali, ACD Rajouri Sushil Khajuria among other district officers, members of DDC, BDC and Sarpanch and Panches from all across the District, Registrar BGSBU amongst other prominent members from the civil society.
