2024 Australia Day Honours Recognize Outstanding Contributions from Our Community

The University of Newcastle congratulates all recipients who have been recognised in the 2024 Australia Day Honours, in particular celebrating those that make up a vital part of the University community.

Congratulations to all Australia Day Honours recipients, including proud Worimi man, Dr Kelvin Kong who has been appointed a Member of the Order of Australia.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alex Zelinsky AO, congratulated all recipients, highlighting that the awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of outstanding Australians.

“These awards provide an important chance to reflect upon all of the dedicated Australians who have made a significant impact in our community,” said Professor Zelinsky.

“I extend my congratulations to all those recognised, and in particular our students, staff, alumni, donors, and the wider network of our diverse University community. I would like to thank each of these recipients for their ongoing commitment to improving our communities and our nation.”
