2024 Party Committee Cadre Conference and Office Work Commendation Conference Held at Nanjing University
On the afternoon of May 17, the 2024 Nanjing University Party Committee Cadre Conference and the 2022-2023 Office Work Commendation Conference were held at the Xianlin Campus.
Yang Zhong, executive deputy secretary of the school party committee and secretary of the party committee of the school, delivered a work report of the party committee of the school on the theme of “uniting hearts and souls, striving together to improve quality and efficiency and set an example”. The report reviewed and summarized the work achievements in 2023 from four aspects: first, focusing on uniting hearts and souls, ideological guidance is more in-depth; second, focusing on integration and mutual promotion, the construction of the school is more powerful; third, focusing on capacity improvement, empowering growth is more substantial; fourth, focusing on the needs of teachers and students, and the style of work construction is more solid.
Yang Zhong made an in-depth analysis of the prominent problems that have long restricted the development of the organization. He emphasized that in order to implement the important deployment of the school party committee’s “Year of Improving Management Quality and Efficiency”, we must firmly grasp the five principles of “adhering to problem orientation, highlighting key points, insisting on reform and innovation, adhering to a systematic concept, and insisting on results first”. Through “four actions”, we will comprehensively promote the “Year of Breakthrough in Improving the Quality and Efficiency of the Organization”: implement the “Political Power Strengthening Action” to consolidate the ideological foundation; carry out the “Organizational Power Cohesion Action” to build a stronghold at the grassroots level; promote the “Practical Power Expansion Action” to make up for the shortcomings in capabilities; deepen the “Service Power Leap Action” to lead the transformation of work style.
Yang Zhong summarized the work priorities of the Party Committee of the Office this year: to further promote the “Strive Action”, take the comprehensive implementation of the “Breakthrough Year for Quality and Efficiency Improvement of the Office” as the starting point, focus on the construction of “four strong” party branches, consolidate and expand the results of the theme education, strengthen the construction of the second-level party school, carry out a series of learning and education activities, improve the quality of branch construction, promote and improve the joint construction of branches, encourage party members to play an exemplary role, improve the training system, implement the “1+3” action plan, enrich the channels for young people to gain experience in the office, continue to implement the “pilot project”, highlight positive guidance, and strengthen supervision and feedback. Yang Zhong emphasized that all cadres of the office must further enhance the sense of responsibility of “always worrying about it”, deepen the action of “having a clear mind about everything”, strengthen management, and implement it vigorously, so as to jointly write a strong and colorful stroke of the office people in the construction of a world-class Nanjing University with Chinese characteristics.
In order to give full play to the exemplary role of advanced models, the Party Committee of the Office carried out the 2022-2023 annual evaluation work for the departments, directly affiliated units and all cadres and staff of the Office, and selected a group of advanced models. Min Jianhong, Secretary of the Office Discipline Committee and Director of the Party Committee Inspection Office, read out the commendation decision. The award-winning units, individuals and work single awards were introduced one by one at the commendation site. Yang Zhong presented awards to the advanced units of the Office, Chen Yunsong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, presented awards to the work single awards of the Office, Wang Zhenlin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the University and Vice President, presented awards to the advanced departments/teams of the Office, and Lu Xiancai, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the University and Vice President, and Zhou Jilin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the University, Director of the Graduate Work Department of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of the Graduate School, respectively presented awards to the advanced workers of the Office.
At the meeting, Sun Leqiang, Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee, Jiang Tian, Director of the Science and Technology Department, and Wang Ruiqiong, Chief of the Accounting Section of the Finance Department, spoke as award-winning representatives, vividly demonstrating the style of the agency’s people who work hard, concentrate on their work, and are good at getting things done.
The conference was held online and offline simultaneously, and was chaired by Chen Jing, executive deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Office. Members of the school’s party and government leadership team, members of the Party Committee of the Office, principals of the directly affiliated units of the Office, representatives of the 2022-2023 Office’s advanced collectives, advanced workers and individual work awards, and all middle-level cadres and section-level cadres of the Office attended the meeting at the main venue. Other comrades from the Office participated in the meeting online via live video broadcast.
