2298 beneficiaries get employment from State Urban Livelihood Mission

 

Bhopal : Training was imparted to 5 thousand 316 beneficiaries in the year 2019 under State Urban Livelihood Mission. Of these, employment/self-employment was made available to 2298 beneficiaries. The scheme is being implemented in 110 cities. Under this scheme contracts have been made with CEPAT, Indo-German tool and private industrial institutions for training. Under self-employment programme, this year 517 beneficiaries have been given loan of Rs 6 crore 28 lakhs.

Under Urban Street Vendors Membership Scheme identity cards were distributed to one lakh 24 thousand 799 street vendors after survey this year. Hawkers-corner was constructed at a cost of Rs one crore 33 lakh to facilitate street vendors.

As many as 133 shelters (ashrams), in 55 urban bodies with a population of over one lakh and at district headquarters are being run under this scheme. In these, people without shelter are provided free housing and medical facilities.
