237 New Aganwadi Centres to be constructed in district: DDC
Doda: District Convergence Committee in its meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner Dr Sagar D Doifode today finalized the Poshan Abhiyan plan for the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Project Officer, ICDS, ACD, CMO, CEO, Xen PHE, besides by CDPOs of all the blocks.
At the outset, Program Officer ICDS, Shahida Parveen, briefed the meeting about the different quarters that are important for the formulation of convergence Plan under Poshan Abhiyan.
During the meeting, the DDC urged the heads of concerned departments to work in tandem and asked them for pooling their efforts to evolve a convergence plan so that an integrated approach could be carved out for achieving the tangible results under the Poshan Abhiyan.
The DDC directed the PO ICDS to send the proposal for construction of 237 new Aganwadi Centres at each Panchayat across the district to the ACD Doda. The Tehsildars were directed to identify 5 marla land in each Panchayat for the construction of the same.
The Jal Shakti department was asked to provide the water supply to the Anganwadi centres having own accommodation and to those under construction.
Furthermore, DDC directed the PO ICDS to revisit the list of vacant school buildings in the planning department, so that they can be used to house Anganwadi centres.
The DDC directed the CMO Doda to formulate the yearly schedule for weekly medical examination of the children in all the Anganwadi centres by of Asha and ANM workers.
The CEO was directed to depute one Guardian teacher at each Anganwadi centre and frame the role and responsibilities for the teacher who will visit the designated centre on weekly basis and take care of all the IEC activities at the centre without any fail.
The DDC also directed the CDPOs to prepare the growth chart for all the age groups and expedite the activity in coordination with the health department. He appointed CDPO Thathri to prepare the list of necessary parameters on the basis of which the activity will be carried out. The CDPO Thathri was asked to submit the progress report in the DDC office within the 15 days without any fail.
