27 Applicants selected for allotment of MUs for cultivation at Pulwama

PULWAMA : The Department of Agriculture today selected 27 applicants for allotment of Mushroom Units (MUs) for cultivation here during an event held at Agriculture Office Pulwama.

Out of 103 applicants 27 were selected through a draw of lots and 12 applicants are on the waiting list for cultivation of Mushrooms during Autumn season of current year.

In this regard a function was today held under the aegis of Chief Agriculture Officer Pulwama.

On the occasion, CAO said that the department is committed to give a boost to Mushroom sector by providing financial support on equipments and raw material besides providing technical support so that the mushroom cultivation is done on scientific lines and thus provide an opportunity for increasing the income of mushroom growers.

He said the final selection of 27 applicants will be subject to the feasibility report of cropping rooms after thorough inspection by field staff.

DAO Ext, SDAO Tral and Kakapora besides other officials were present on the occasion.
