2ND EDITION OF INORBIT DURGAM CHERUVU RUN 2022 CLOCKS 3000 PARTICIPANTS

Hyderabad  – Inorbit Mall Hyderabad successfully organised the second edition of ‘Inorbit Durgam Cheruvu Run 2022’ on Sunday over the Durgam Cheruvu cable-stayed bridge.  Powered by Sports Brand PUMA, this year’s new addition of 21k run was flagged off by Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, Shri. Stephen Raveendra, IPS, followed by 10k run by Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT) and later the 5k run was flagged off by Shri Arvind Kumar, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, MA&UD. The marathon for the PwD segment was flagged off by Smt. Divya Devrajan, IAS (Secretary and Commissioner for Women, Child, Disabled and Senior Citizens department). This year IDCR ’22 saw a huge turnout of over 3000 individuals from different walks of life and different age groups. Out of these 90 specially-abled runners inspired everyone with their participation by walking 100 meters on the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge.  IDCR 2022 went bigger and better than its debut last year adding the 21K run for the professionals.

 

The marathon was flagged off from Inorbit Mall Hyderabad on Sunday early morning and many other dignitaries like Smt. Priyanka Ala, IAS, Smt K Shilpavalli, Deputy DCP Cyberabad Police, Shri Amarnath Reddy, Chief Relations Officer, IT Department and Shri Shrawan Gone, Head KRC graced the event with their presence. The run was also supported by NGO Nirmaan.Org that partnered with Inorbit Hyderabad to better the lives of People with Disabilities (PwD) by helping them develop skills that will make them eligible for employment. The event raised a whopping sum of Rs 30 lakh that will be mobilized towards this noble cause.

 

The half marathon was concluded with the announcement of the winners at the mall premises. In the 21k run, the winners were announced under 3 age groups. The team at Inorbit mall ensured that all safety measures were adhered to with volunteers putting in their best efforts to maintain International COVID-19 standards for the event.

 

It is a proud moment for Inorbit mall to host a successful Half marathon for the second edition on a larger scale. We would like to thank our partners and government officials for supporting this initiative. Being able to organize this marathon with strict COVID safety measures was a task well done and I would like to give this credit to Cyberabad Police, who is also supporting the noble cause of #saynotodrugs which was promoted during the event.
