3-day Annual Tech-Fest ‘Innovision 2023’ inaugurated at NIT Rourkela highlighting Drone and Robo Show

 

The 3-day annual tech-fest ‘INNOVISION’ was inaugurated today by illuminating the holy lamp with the esteemed dignitaries and students present at the BB Auditorium, NIT Rourkela. Innovision is organized by the Technical Society, Student Activity Centre, NIT Rourkela and is one of the biggest tech fests in Eastern India. With an average of 60 to 70 events ranging from VR Showcase, Drone Displays, Code hunts, Maze Hunts, Robo Race, Car and Bike Shows to guest lectures, artistic exhibitions, and many more, the fest provides a wholesome experience to the participants. The event started today and will conclude on 5th NOV, 2023. The theme of this year’s tech-fest is “TECHTOPIA”.
Congratulating the collective efforts of Innovision team, Dean( Student Welfare) Prof. Siddharth S Jena said, “I encourage everyone to relish the experience and gain knowledge, as this is the chance to showcase your innovation and talents. I hope that you all build new friendships and engage enthusiastically. My wish is for everyone to gain valuable insights from their time at NIT Rourkela campus.”
The opening ceremony was also joined by Prof. Rajeev Kumar Panda (President, Student Activity Centre) accompanied by Prof. Kaustav Chaudhury and Prof. Tirthankar Sarkar (Vice Presidents of Technical Society, Student Activity Centre,) along with other faculties, staff, and students. The inaugural event had a gesture-controlled drone show and a humanoid robot showcase, demonstrated by Mr. Raj Sekhar, the founder of the startup ‘Man of Drones’.
Acknowledging the spirit and soul of INNOVISION’23, Prof. Rajeev Kumar Panda, the President of the Student Activity Centre (SAC), said “This year will be a paradise of tech, vision and quest for a better future with digital platforms. Wishing all participants the very best for this thrilling 3-day event, designed to instil the spirit of NIT Rourkela in every heart and soul. I welcome all the external participants who have come from different parts of the country to our campus for attending the programme.”
Innovision 2023 is hosting more than 1000 student participants from various colleges/universities like SOA, VSSUT, CET, VIT, KIIT etc. The total participation/audience including NITR students is over 8000 and the accommodation for outsiders is being provided by NIT Rourkela. Apart from tech events, Day 1 of the fests included guest lectures and entertaining fun events like paintball, balloon pop, bull ride and other sports. The rest two days will include tech competitions along with hosting entrepreneurs, tech influencers, YouTubers, singers, stand-up comedians, dancers and DJs. Since its inception in 2004, INNOVISION has grown stronger with each passing year. This event has been a hub for bringing together individuals who share a common passion for technology, allowing them to create lasting memories.
The team of organisers comprises more than 90 students. Rashmi Ranjan Samantray and Prachuit Priyadarshi Sahoo are the convenors of the fest.
