3rd Biennial International Conference on Future Learning Aspects of Mechanical Engineering (FLAME-2022) commences at Amity
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amity School of Engineering and Technology (ASET), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, has organized the 3rd Biennial International Conference on Future Learning Aspects of Mechanical Engineering (FLAME-2022) from 3rd -5th August 2022. The Conference aims to provide an opportunity to connect with many eminent personalities in the field of Research, Academics, and Industry to witness, discuss and develop new ideas and concepts for formulating solutions to problems in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Allied Areas.
Addressing the gathering at the Inaugural Session, Chief Guest, Dr. Seema Vinayak, Scientist ‘H’& Director, Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), said, “The pandemic brought a lot of new opportunities with it along with the challenges and great lessons were learnt from it, technology being one of them. The Conference will provide a lot of exposure and learning to the students. Each and every aspect of technology involves Mechanical Engineering as it plays a very important role in all domains, whether it is computer engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, information technology, defence and space, mobile technology or any other technology.”
Expressing his extreme delight at the commencement of the Conference, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group, stated, “The Conference will prove to be a game-changer for the career progression of the students of Amity. Amity is focussed on shaping the careers of its students and makes sure that no student is deprived of any opportunity. Each and every word spoken by the esteemed guests today will be of grave importance for the students, which they must follow in order to realise their dreams. This is a great learning opportunity for the students, and they must make the best use of this opportunity.” He also called upon the students of Amity to make a mission, set a goal and keep working towards it relentlessly, as this is the only way to achieve success.
Sharing his views on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Sameer Khandekar, Head of Mechanical Engineering Dept, IIT, Kanpur, said, “Students must be extremely focussed on their career and what they want to achieve in life. They must not lose the present for future and any kind of distraction should not become an obstacle for them. Therefore, it is advised to keep the man-machine interaction minimal, as students are required to be always attentive and alert.
Advising the teachers, he further added, “Technology cannot inspire students therefore, it is the responsibility of the teachers to inspire and motivate the students and empower them to attain their goals.”
Advising the students of Amity, Guest of Honour – Prof. C Balaji, IIT Madras, said, “Mechanical Engineering is undergoing a transformation just like all other domains, therefore, the students need to adapt the change and keep striving hard as change is the only constant.”
Dr. Bhujang Rao Vepakomma, Former Director General, DRDO, said, “Students must align themselves with the goal of PM to make India a 5 trillion economy by 2025. Self-reliance is the need of the hour and therefore, it is imperative to develop all the products and technologies in our own country rather than relying on external sources. Considering the current scenario, there is a huge demand for innovation as innovation is the most important driving force for the scientific development of our country.”
Highlighting the significance of the three-day Conference, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, averred, “Amity follows a strong culture of nurturing talent and imbibing great human values in the students. The pandemic has impacted the manufacturing sector where innovation has become a necessity for survival. Amity research and innovation aligns itself with the future requirements of the industries and wants to be a partner in their growth. Defence Technology is a one of the prime focus areas at Amity University today, which will lead India to become “Aatm Nirbhar”. Mechanical Engineering is the base for all manufacturing units and this Conference will provide the right platform to the students for developing their skills and talent to pursue the subject.”
During the three-day Conference, a total of 25 Technical Sessions, 9 Plenary Talks and 25 Keynote Talks by industry experts from organizations such as Siemens, DRDO and ISRO, along with the Academicians and Professors from IITs, will be conducted. In addition, an Industry-Academia Panel Discussion on “Unlocking Aatm Nirbhar Bharat through Engineering Excellence” will also be organized. Out of the total 950 research articles received, 359 articles have been selected for publication.
