3rd edition of SFA Championships commenced in Dehradun today
Dehradun : Sports For All (SFA), India’s leading tech-enabled multi-sport school competition platform, kicked off Dehradun’s third edition of the SFA Championships. The SFA Championships kicked off today in Dehradun with a remarkable opening ceremony uniting athletes, schools, and coaches showcasing the city’s talent and enthusiasm.
Recording a whopping 12,000 registrations from 300 schools from – Dehradun, Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Haridwar and Roorkee, participants competed at a scale never before imagined for school sports, in the country. SFA Championships aims to unveil the city’s best-kept athletic talent, discover the “number one school in sports”, and eventually enable athletes to compete across geographies.
The opening day of the SFA Championships were held on the athletics track of Maharana Pratap Sports College and at the football arena of Pavilion Ground. On day 1, Athletics took place on the grounds of Maharana Pratap Sports College, whereas Football (U14, U16 & U18) kicked off in the Football arena of Pavillion Ground.
The athletics track was definitely lit up with U-6 girls and boys competing in 50m. The podium wins for U-6 female athletes were Oshin Panwar from Maharana Pratap Sports College (gold), Ananta Uniyal from St Joseph’s Academy (silver) and Tanya Bhutani from Mount Bishop School (bronze). On the other side of the track, long jump podium wins for boys U-12 were clinched by Pratyush Sharma from Maharana Pratap Sports College (gold), Ankush Rawat from St Anne’s School (silver) and Paras Rajwar from Maharana Pratap Sports College (bronze).
The SFA Championships this week, will see athletes compete across sporting venues of – Maharana Pratap Sports College, Pavilion Ground, Parade Ground, Shree Sports Academy and Jaspal Rana Shooting Range in Dehradun.
