41 CBSE principals learn management skills at IIM Kashipur’s two-day exposure visit
The Design Innovation Centre (DIC) of IIM Kashipur hosted principals from nine states: Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana between 27-28 June.
Kashipur, July 4, 2024: Playing its role in imparting National Education Policy 2020 to every educational institution, the Indian Institute of Management Kashipur held a two-day-long exposure visit of 41 principals of schools affiliated with the CBSE last week.
The Design Innovation Centre (DIC) of IIM Kashipur hosted the principals from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana under the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE’s) exposure visit initiative introduced to skill up the school educators and principals with the management technique and skills, practiced at institutes with national importance.
The National Education Policy – 2020 emphasizes that vocational skill education will be an integral part of school and higher education. The purpose of the exposure visit is to introduce them to advanced processes and techniques used by institutions across the country.
The program aimed to provide exposure to interactive learning, access to different environments, social interactions, and the latest trends and practices at the workplace. These Principals may, in turn, mentor the teachers of schools in their neighborhood thus, unfold unlimited opportunities for educator empowerment.
“In the six sessions, they were taught campus development activities, digital learning initiatives, teaching and learning-focused initiatives, use of technology in school education, Liaising Opportunities & Networking, and Upscaling of Skill Education and others in line with NEP 2020 for the schools,” Prof. Kumkum Bharti, Coordinator of the Design Innovation Centre.
The attendees were selected from different segments of CBSE-affiliated schools, including private schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, and other government schools.

They were given insight on Management, Administrative Setup & Association, the importance of libraries as an evolving space for learning, building opportunities for networking with HEIs resources, sharing & scope of collaboration to implement the initiatives, and shared about the range of programs and events conducted by the Navaashay, Design Innovation Centre and their impact, etc.
