4th International Dental Student’s Congress 2019 organized by Sharda University

New Delhi: School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University organized the 4th International Dental Student’s Congress 2019 in collaboration with Indian Association of Dental Students and International Association of Dental Students from 12th – 14th April, 2019 at their campus.

The inaugural ceremony of the conference was held on 13th April 2019 at SMSR Auditorium, Sharda University. Mr. P.K Gupta – Chancellor, Sharda University, Dr. G.R.C Reddy – Vice Chancellor, Sharda University, Dr. P.L Kariholu – Pro- Vice Chancellor, Sharda University, Dean of SDS – Dr. Jagadeesh and Dr. Navnit – President of IADS, Dr. Praveen Kumar – VP of IADS were among the eminent dignitaries present at the conference. Padmashree Dr. Mahesh Verma (Director & Dean, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences) was the Chief Guest and Dr. Sudhir Kapoor (President – UP Dental Council of India) was the Guest of Honour for the conference. Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra (Chairman Academic Committee, MCI and Chancellor – Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, Karad) delivered a key note address to enhance the skills and knowledge of the experienced young dentists and dental professionals.

The objective of organizing the 4th International Dental Student’s Congress 2019 was to enhance the skills and knowledge of the experienced young dentists and dental professionals and to encompass dental professionals with a wide arena of guest lectures, research papers, paper & poster presentation, instructional courses, dental Olympics, dental quiz, and much more. The 4th International Dental Student’s Congress 2019 also served as an excellent opportunity for the students to network and interact with the colleagues from the dental fraternity. ‘Basic Life Support (BLS) Workshop’ was organised by Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi in which Dr. Gaurav & Dr. Vanita along with the team of instructors provided booklets and demonstrated the high quality CPR on adults and infants’ manikins. An ‘Implant Workshop’ was also conducted by Dr. Anuj Thakur from AB Implants (Jharkhand) along with a ‘CBCT Workshop’ which was conducted by Dr. Abhishek Dubey – Director of Pioneer Scan Imaging Centre, Kanpur.

The International Dental Student’s Congress 2019 witnessed 6 International Keynote Speakers such as Dr. Ahmed Reda from Egypt, Dr. Barbara Sobczak from Poland, Dr. Matej Magura from Czech Republic, Dr Ahmed Sharkway & Dr. Hanna Nassar from Egypt. Also, more than 20 National Speakers participated in the conference along with more than 600 delegates from all over the country. The Conference also hosted the EXCELLENCE IN DENTAL PROFICIENCY AWARDS by IADS under various categories such as;

· Jury Special Award of Appreciation – Dr. Kuldeep Dhanker

· Award of Appreciation from IADS – Dr. Alankrita Chaudhary

· Dental Entrepreneur of the Year – Dr. Nitin Bhagat

· Excellence in Dental Research – Dr. Anu Vashisth

· Winner Best Cons & Endo PG of the Year – Dr. Shyambhavi Srivastava

· Jury Special Cons & Endo PG of the Year – Dr. Mohnisha Shahi

· Highly Commended Young Dental Achiever of the Year – Dr. Ritu Sharma.

· Jury special award Best UG of the Year – Dr. Ronika Goyal

· Winner Best UG of the Year (2nd Year) – Dr. Pallav Prakash
