5-day workshop on Menstrual Hygiene concludes at Reasi

Reasi: The five-Day long Workshop on Menstrual Hygiene organised by the District Administration Reasi, Department of ICDS in collaboration with the UNOPS Delhi concluded, here today.

Workshop on the menstrual hygiene and safe menstrual practice was organised for Teachers, Supervisors, health educators and health volunteers during March 10-15 ; and these would act as master trainers and shall organise awareness camps at the village and school level.

The event aimed to equip the women with proper education on menstrual health and hygiene so that they can effectively deal with their personal and menstrual hygiene.

During the five day long workshop, the resources persons from UNOPS organised discussions, group activities and lecturs on good menstrual hygienic practices such as the use of sanitary napkins; washing and cleaning; how to dispose of sanitary napkins, followed by precautions to be taken during the period and dietary habits, so, as to enable them to lead a healthy reproductive life in future.

The participants said this workshop would play a major part in creating awareness among the women about menstruation hygiene to ensure that the girls live in an environment that values and supports their ability to manage their menstruation with dignity.
