53 lakh labourers get employment in Madhya Pradesh. CM directed that 100 percent storage of wheat procured in the state must be ensured

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed that 100 percent storage of wheat procured in the state must be ensured, and action must be taken to make remaining payment to farmers immediately. The Chief Minister was reviewing wheat procurement and storage through video conferencing on Wednesday. He said that arrangement of warehouses must be made for storage in the districts where procurement has been completed. The procured wheat and gram must not be damaged anywhere by rain. District collectors should also review it under their jurisdiction daily.

It was informed at the meeting that one crore 28 lakh 13 thousand metric tonnes of wheat has been procured in the state. Procurement is in progress in Dewas, Indore and Ujjain. Procurement has been made from a total of 15 lakh 74 thousand farmers. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains said that the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection should complete all arrangements by micro-monitoring this work.

Principal Secretary Food Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla informed that till now an amount of Rs 20 thousand crore has been paid. The amount has been deposited in the accounts of a total of 14 lakh 8 thousand farmers. Payment of a total amount of Rs 21 thousand 174 crores has to be made.

Principal Secretary Agriculture Shri Ajit Kesari informed that 5 lakh 50 thousand metric tonnes of gram have been purchased in the state. Out of this, transportation of 75 percent of the gram has also been completed, 95 percent of the gram procured in the districts of the state till June 15 has been stored.

53 lakh labourers get employment in Madhya Pradesh

Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Manoj Shrivastava informed that through video conferencing, 53 lakh labourers have been provided employment in the state. These labourers were attached to the works undertaken in various schemes. Seven lakh 56 thousand job cards have been provided under Shram Siddhi Abhiyan, which is more than 4 times than last year. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that machines should not be used in MNREGA works where there is no permission.
