600 specially-abled children will gather to participate in a vibrant Raas-Garba program at the SCD Barfiwala School, Andheri
To bring joy, inclusivity, and a sense of celebration to children who often face unique challenges. Lions Club of Juhu, in its 65th year, under the dynamic presidency of Lion Biren Katwala, along with their Dynamic Chairpersons, Lion Devangi & Parag Dalal, is organizing a heartwarming Navratri program, “Dholida with Special Kids.”
This event is exclusively designed for specially-abled children, including those who are visually, mentally, hearing, and physically challenged, aligning with the President and their core team’s vision for a dream project this year. Over 600 specially-abled children will gather to participate in a vibrant Raas-Garba program, where well-known singers and musicians will perform live, specifically for these children, making this Navratri an unforgettable experience for them.
Lion Biren Katwala, President of the Lions Club of Juhu, expressed his heartfelt sentiments regarding the event, emphasizing that “Inclusion transforms the path of specially-abled children into a vibrant dance that celebrates diversity at every step. Assisting these exceptional children is akin to weaving the fabric of happiness with the threads of compassion. Specially-abled children are, in their own remarkable manner, just like any of us, exhibiting their unique form of normalcy.”
Lion Devangi Dalal, also a renowned Audiologist, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming event saying, “We are honored to be part of ‘Dholida with Special Kids,’ a celebration that resonates with our passion for helping the specially-abled community. This Navratri event is not only about celebrating a festival but also about celebrating their resilience and spirit. I hope it exemplifies inclusivity and love that extends beyond the Navratri season.”
The “Dholida with Special Kids” program is set to be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the SCD Barfiwala School Campus, starting at 5:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m.
The event is also supported by some of the members of the Lions Club of Juhu, philanthropic donors, Corporates, and all the members of the Lions Club of Juhu
