65 beneficiaries selected under PMMSY Scheme in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL : The District Level Screening committee under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today finalized the selection of beneficiaries for construction of trout ponds, carp ponds and Low cost houses through draw of lots under Pradhan MantriMatysaSampadaYojna (PMMSY) and capex budget 2021-22 under Fisheries Department Ganderbal.

The committee selected 65 beneficiaries including 19 of trout units for providing of financial assistance, 15 under carp sector and 31 of Mahigeers have been selected for providing of financial assistance for construction of low cost house under centrally sponsored scheme for the year 2021-22 and a subsidy of 93.20 lacs will be provided by the department to these beneficiaries.

It is pertinent to mention here that Department of Fisheries is providing Rs. 2.20 lakh as subsidy (40%) for constriction of trout unit and Rs. 0.74 lakh is being provided for constriction of carp unit and for construction of low cost house Rs. 1.30 lacs (100% share) is being provided to the fishermen as financial assistance.

Among others the meeting was attended by ACD, Assistant Director Fisheries, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Lead Bank Manager besides representatives of KVK Ganderbal, SKUAST, Ringil, Jal Shakti Ganderbal, Fishermen and Fish Farmers.
