Remote and electronic technologies in the modern educational process
Within the framework of the 72nd All-Russian (with international participation) scientific conference of students and young scientists of PetrSU, a round table “Remote and electronic technologies in the modern educational process” was held, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of PetrSU.
The section “History of Education”, which has become a traditional form of presentation of student research at the Department of Russian History, in 2020, due to the existing quarantine restrictions, had to change the format of work, moving from presenting reports and presentations on the history of education in Russia to discussing topical issues of its modern development.
These changes aroused the interest of students and teachers of the Institute of Social and Social Security. The moderator of the round table, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian History I.V. Shorokhova noted the growth of attendance at the scientific event. About 40 people took part in the round table.
PetrSU, as a pivotal university in Karelia, has identified the main problematic field of discussion – the comprehension of the new working conditions for the system of secondary and higher education. The round table has turned into a platform for the exchange of work experience for teachers who, in the context of distance learning, are forced to look for new ways and methodological methods of teaching schoolchildren, students mastering and evaluating new forms of obtaining professional skills and competencies, as well as PetrSU teachers who are making efforts to introduce distance and electronic technologies in the process of preparing bachelors and masters. The tone of the discussion and the questions posed by the participants in the discussion demonstrated the desire of all representatives of the educational process to consider restrictive measures to spread the pandemic as new opportunities for professional growth, stimulating methodological,
The experience of involving teachers of history and social studies in the discussion of new technologies in modern education was successful. A graduate of PetrSU YA Sergeenkov, who works at the Shuya secondary school, shared the possibilities of using quest technologies in the educational process. IV Lovchikova, a history and social science teacher at the Moscow State Budgetary Educational Institution “Gymnasium No. 17 named after PO Korgan”, identified the advantages and disadvantages of using Google tests as a form of control over the subject competences of students in social studies and history lessons. Practicing teachers answered students’ questions related to the specific challenges of the modern education system in the use of distance and electronic technologies. The ensuing discussion revealed the problem of verifying the student’s personality and the reliability of assessing his knowledge in a distant student.
Students of the pedagogical direction of the IIPSN training presented for discussion an analysis of the possibilities of using electronic resources of the National Archive of the Republic of Karelia in the research activities of schoolchildren (E. Fedorova, 443 gr., Scientific supervisor. Associate Professor I. V. Shorokhova), assessed the methodological site “My Karelia” for solving the problem of improving the quality of teaching the history of Karelia in the schools of the republic (K. Ivanova, 443 gr., Yu. Kaminnaya, 443 gr., scientific supervisor, associate professor I. V. Shorokhova). First-year IIPSN undergraduates conducted a comparative characteristic of educational platforms Blackboard and Moodle in terms of the effectiveness of their use in distance learning (I.S. Kharitonov, scientific supervisor, associate professor V.V. Volokhova) and presented an analysis of the perception of distance learning by PetrSU students (A A. Malyshko, scientific supervisor O. Yu. Repukhova).
Collaboration of PetrSU with educational and cultural and educational platforms of Karelia provided an opportunity for a researcher of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a master’s degree student of the Institute of Information and Social Sciences E.P. Parfenova to acquaint the participants of the round table with the educational activities of the museum and its new possibilities in the conditions of the quarantine restrictions of 2020.
The format of the round table allowed the first-year students of the pedagogical direction of IIPSN to show their scientific abilities. They took part in the discussion, assessing the effectiveness of distance learning and the experience of contactless reception at PetrSU in 2020 (F. A. Ivashkina, 413 gr., A. V. Zakharchuk, 413 gr., Scientific supervisor. Shorokhov).
In the course of a serious and constructive discussion of the new challenges posed to the education system of the Russian Federation, the humorous context of distance learning in the Internet space was presented by students from 443 gr. D.V. Evseev and K.S. Lomakin (scientific supervisor T.V. Bauer).
A great contribution to the work of the round table through precise and capacious questions, practical advice to students and, in general, a friendly attitude towards the participants was made by prof. A.V. Antoshchenko and associate professor S.N. Filimonchik.
